What is Clean Eating?

Clean eating is a really simple concept. It is about eating fresh, whole,  minimally processed and unrefined foods. The concept revolves more about the pathway your food takes from origin to your plate. It is less about eating specific things such as a certain amount of calories, less carbs or more proteins. When you eat clean you avoid foods that have artificial sweeteners, preservatives, and other chemicals. Items like pre-made mixes, "low fat" options, boxed sides and meals are full of chemicals and preservatives.
Not all processed food is bad. Sometimes food is processed to remove bacteria or toxins for example, pasteurized milk. The key idea is to remove foods from your diet that are ultra processed like ready-to-eat foods.
The PERKS of Clean Eating:
Diets heavy on fruits and vegetables with a healthy portion of protein can curb of prevent certain diseases and conditions like high blood pressure, type II diabetes and heart disease. Plus, there is research that that links a diet with fresh fruits and vegetables to glowing skin and hair and healthy weight management.
